We miss you Daddy

Scott left for Chicago early Saturday morning and will be getting home soon, thank goodness. I just wanted to let him know how much we love and miss him. Things aren't the same with you gone, we need you home!!

I've seen these little question things on other blogs and thought this would be a good time to do it. So I sat down with the boys and asked them some questions.

What is something dad always says to you?
Kaiden: Dude
What makes dad happy?
Kaiden: When we play with him
Connor: Chicken and breakfast
What makes dad sad?
Kaiden: When I'm mad
How does dad make you laugh?
Kaiden: He tickles me
Connor: He just can tickle me
How old is your dad?
Kaiden: 16
Connor: 16 (can you tell I was asking Kaiden first while connor was sitting right there)
How tall is your dad?
Kaiden: 6 inches
Connor: Like this tall (with his hand as far over his head as he could reach)
What is his favorite thing to do?
Kaiden: He likes to play video games with me and he likes it when I laugh and am happy
Connor: Daddy keeps punching me in my belly
What does your dad do when you’re not around?
Kaiden: go to sleep
What is your dad really good at?
Kaiden: Basketball
Connor: Football
What is your dad not very good at?
Kaiden: Not eating yucky things
Connor: Saying hahahahahaha he just keeps doing that
What does your dad do for his job?
Kaiden: go to work, he works with his phone and his computer and his friends
Connor: Just come back and go back and come back and go back
What is your dad’s favorite food?
Kaiden:Salad (I have no idea where that came from)
Connor: Treats and Candy (now that sounds more like it)
What do you and your dad do together?
Kaiden: Play and wrestle and jump on people
Connor: Play games and fun stuff
How are you and your dad the same?
Kaiden: We wear black pants and grey shirts and grey pants
Connor: I don't want to be the same as daddy I want to be the same as me (how cute is that)
How are you and your dad different?
Kaiden: We do different stuff. We have different shirts and different pants and different shoes and we have different rooms
Connor: I'm like this small
How do you know your dad loves you?
Kaiden: Because he helps me clean up my toys and the laundry
Connor: He tells me

Then I asked if there was anything else they wanted to say to daddy:
Kaiden: I love him too much and he loves me and helps me to swim and play soccer
Connor: My belly is calling for more cookies

Starting with June

The catch up begins. Kaiden played T-Ball again this June and he loved it. Although, I think his favorite part may have been playing/wresting with his friends while they waited for their turn to bat. The first few weeks were hilarious watching the kids on the same team race to get the ball. I talked to Kaiden several times about the fact that you are all on the same team so you only get the ball when it is coming right to you, eventually I think he caught on. He was a bit of an ambidextrous batter, just whatever side he felt like batting on that day. Thanks Shera and Leanna for coaching, you guys did great!!

Connor stayed happy if he had plenty of snacks and the hope of getting to play at the park when the game was over. Usually by the last half of the game the snacks were gone and I had a grumpy three year old begging to go play at the park "today". He went through a faze of saying "today" when he wanted something right that second. He has since figured out the correct meaning of today and no longer says that, what a smart kid. Anyway, I can't wait till he can play too (but I guess they will be on different teams so that kind of defeats the purpose)

Poor Cambrie fell onto the cement from her stroller. One of those heart stopping sick to your stomach moments. After about 30 min she was acting like nothing happened and I thought she was just fine with a bruise and a little scratch until three days later when I noticed the huge goose egg on her forehead. We brought her in for ex rays immediately and everything looked like it was supposed to, just a hematoma (blood between her skin and skull). It took 4 weeks for the swelling to go down all the way. Her pediatrician saw her during that time for a well check and said it might calcify and she might end up with a little horn.... WHAT?? Luckily a week after he said that it was gone, whew.

Photo Shoot

Well, the summer is over... we had a lot of fun and were super busy (I have tons of pictures to prove it) but instead of writing about all the fun things we did and figuring out which pictures to post I'll start with something easy. Yesterday I went up to Rexburg and met up with my brother and his girlfriend and they helped me take pictures of the kids. It was fun and crazy. I wasn't able to get a good one of all three of them together, so I'll have to try again. Connor wasn't too excited about it since he fell asleep on the car ride and woke up a little grumpy, so I don't have as many of him. Kaiden was loving it and started posing right away.

Cambrie in her tutu... I love it

Happy Birthday Kaiden

On September 11th Kaiden turned five. I really can't believe how fast these five years have gone. What a privlidge it has been to have him in our family, he has brought joy to us everyday.

Kaiden, I never knew it would be possible to love you more now than the day you were born. You have become such an amazing little person...
I love that first thing in the morning you come give me a hug and tell me good morning. I love your big brown eyes. I love what a great big brother you are. I love your laugh. I love that you are such a good friend. I love how brave you are. I love your smile. I love your excitement for even the little things.
We love you Kaiden, happy birthday!

Bear Lake

Over Memorial Day weekend we went on a trip to Bear Lake. We had a blast!! Thanks to my sisters husbands family for letting us use their cabin. And to my mom for the great surprise... the kids miss you already.

We played with bubbles, squirt guns, played games, wrestled...

And four wheeled. Now all of the boys in my house think we nead one. And I might even give in because it was TONS of fun. Connor wasn't a fan of the speed, he told my sister "I want to go back where I came from" when she asked if he was having fun during their ride. But, I think he blocked that part out of his memory because he still says he wants one. Kaiden of course had no fear (which scares me to death). The rain made for lots of mud and puddles to ride in so we came home with lots of dirty laundry.

The boys attempted to take the kids out, but the boat died and they had to carry all the kids to shore. They came back soaked, at least the kids were dry.

Roasting marshmellows...

Connor just wanted to be held once he got off the fourwheeler

No one could get enough of those kissable cheeks, especially grandma.

The big cousins

And I just have to add another one of Connors cute sayings. The other day he wanted to go outside. When I told him he couldn’t because it was raining he said, “I will wear my life jacket”.

Baby Animal Day

A few weekends ago we went to baby animal day with some friends. The kids loved it... here are some pics from the day. We went on a hayride and the kids got to hold bunnies, chicks and ducklings. They also had all kinds of baby animals for them to pet. I love Connors face when he was trying to milk the "cow".

I would write more about it, but my floor is clear of toys/shoes/books/clothes at the moment so I better take advantage of it and vacume, because I know it won't last long.

I've also started to attempt to "do" Cambrie's hair.

Update

Thanks for the suggestions for Connor, here is what happened.

Well, on Saturday morning Connor asked for his blanket. I thought, oh no... but I just told him that he is a big boy now and doesn't need his blanket anymore. Then the tears started. I decided that he may need a little encouragement, so I said that since he is such a big boy and doesn't need his blanket anymore that we could go to the store and he could pick out a treat. At which point the tears immediately stopped... yay!! All weekend he talked about getting his "present" (we didn't even make it to the store till today, and he was surprisingly okay with that too) and never even mentioned the blanket again. He still hasn't even tried to suck his thumb, hopefully he never realizes that it is possible to suck his thumb without holding onto a silky edged blanket. We shall see:)

I did hide all of his back up blankets too (any blanket with silk on the edge), so I guess it's been the out of site out of mind thing. I really didn't think it would be this easy because he would ask for it all of the time. He would ask for it as we were leaving to go somewhere, so we would bring it with us in the car. When he wanted to watch something he would ask for his blanket and of course whenever he was tired he would curl up with it and suck his thumb and fall asleep. Scott has even made runs to the car in the middle of sacrament meeting for the blanket. Not having his blanket has made giving up naps easier for him too. He must have just been ready for this or I am sure it would not have been so easy. I'm so proud of him!! Good luck to all of you out there that still have little thumb suckers.

First Solids

Cambrie is 6 months old now, a whole half a year old!! I can't believe it, I really hope the next 6 months do not go as fast (especially since it will be summer). I thought it was time for her to try some rice cereal. She didn't really like it, but loved trying to get the spoon from me. Not too difficult of a task as I was trying to take pictures at the same time. Next time I'll have to have Scott feed her and I'll do video and more pics.

Her first bite, although I don't think she even swallowed anything.

She kept trying to take the spoon from me

I don't think she is a fan

I love her chubby little hands!!

I thought it would be fun to post pictures of the boys trying solid food too(I didn't realize they had the same bib on till I uploaded the pics, I should have put the same one on Cambrie)

Connor Loving Peas

Kaiden Eating Bananas

Kaiden also had his first soccer practice, here is a little collage I made.

On a side note, Connor has not sucked his thumb for over 48 hours!! Shhhhhhh, don't tell him because I don't even think he has realized it. He has always had a thing for his blanket (it's a fleece on with a silky edge) especially when he sleeps and whenever he has it he sucks his thumb. Well, I recently decided that his blanket would be a great thing to take away when he misbehaves (man I should have thought of that much sooner). The first few times he kept asking for it, and I would give it back to him the next day. Well, I had to take it away again on Wednesday and he has not asked for it since. He didn't even ask for it at bedtime!! I'm just hoping he never asks for it again, because if I give it back to him he'll probably just go back to sucking his thumb. What should I do, tell him he is a big boy now and doesn't need a blanket?? Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Easter

Hope everyone had a happy easter!! We managed to have fun even with a teething baby (Cambrie) and a sick boy (Connor). We even got a few pictures, they still count even though no one is looking at the camera and smiling at the same time right?

Oh, and Kaiden learned to ride his bike without training wheels. He is so proud!!

Connor

Connor turned three on April 2nd. Here are some of my favorite things about him...

-how he still says "I wanna hold ya"
-his dance moves... man I gotta get him on video, he is hilarious
-how he can be so scared and brave at the same time. The look on his face when you push him a little too high on the swing says sit all, but he is still saying "higher"
-how, sometimes, he is so content to just sit and cuddle with me
-how much he loves and looks up to his older brother. I think he would go anywhere and do just about anything as long as Kaiden was there
-how sweet he is to his baby sister
-how observant he is, even when you think he isn't paying any attention he is.
-the time he was about to jump off my bed and then said "that's not a great idea"

Here are a few pictures of him, we love you Connor!!

Time fly's

I can't believe it's been over a month since I've posted. I think three kids has put me at my max at the moment, especially since the 4 year-old and soon to be 3 year-old are little boys who are constantly making new messes for me to clean up. And well, the sweet little baby cannot keep the poop from leaking out of her diaper and onto her cute clothes. Oh how I love oxy-clean!! Here are a few randoms about my kids, because they are my life and I love them.

I am starting to discover what an amazing memory Kaiden has, this will be a great advantage to him during his school years (he got this from his dad, not me). He tells me all the time how much he loves me and that I am his best friend, this however has become a disadvantage in primary. He claims that he loves me so much that I have to be his teacher again this year and will not go without me. Let's hope this Sunday is better.

Connor cracks me up everyday with the things he says and how he says it. One day there was a knock at the door so I asked him who it could be... he responded with "I think maybe it's a child of God" and he was in fact correct. He doesn't understand the meaning of the words "grumpy". He will say things like "mom, your hair is so grumpy". Some words he just can't seem to get right... for example he says "everypeople" instead of "everyone" or "everybody"

And Cambrie, she is still the best little baby. She makes all of us smile and laugh every day- what joy she has already brought into our family. She is discovering her voice (she randomly screams her little baby scream), and we love making her laugh (Kaiden is the best at it). Oh, how we love her!!

The days go by too fast and I can't seem to get everything accomplished on my long, long to-do list. I am overwhelmed, but I am so blessed and love every second of my crazy life. Here are a few pictures from the last month!!

Sorry there are so many of Cambrie, but I couldn't decide so I posted them all:)

We're Home

Well, we are back from our vacation in California. It was so nice, just what I needed. It was great to see my family and to get a break from winter, it was 80 when we left... talk about hard to get on the plane. Anyway I have a million things to do, but I thought I would hurry and post a few pics.

Video of Cambrie

Here is a little video of Cambrie smileing and talking to Scott. Can't you just tell she loves her daddy. And it is official, she is one chubby baby. I took her in for her two month check up and she is in the 97% for her weight. I love my chunky babies!!
